These handlebars are constructed with seamless CNC mandrel bent 0.120” wall 4130 chromoly tubes. Available in two styles: Smooth bars for custom applications: no slots, dimples or castellated ends. TBW w/ insert handlebars for regular, cable-operated throttles, and Harley's Throttle-By-Wire control module if the black end plug is removed. TBW bars have slots on each side for stock H-D hand controls and an exit slot in the center for internal wiring. Form and Function: Apes have a purpose beyond classic chopper aesthetic, which is to alter the bike's aerodynamic profile by raising the rider's hands level with or slightly above shoulder height. This increases the front profile going down the highway, which in turn reduces headwind pressure against the rider's chest at higher speeds. It's the same principle as a windshield, without the plastic appendage jutting off the forks. NOTE: Your motorcycle's clutch cable, brake line and/or hand control wires may not be long enough to safely install this bar. Double-check these components before taking the stock bars off your motorcycle.
