The siderack features a a Quick-Lock system that allows the carrier to be removed quickly and easily without tools. After removing the racks, only three small mounting tabs remain visible (on each side), maintaining the original look of your motorcycle. The SW-Motech Quick-Lock EVO Style Sidecarriers allow the addition of optional key locks which lock the racks to the bike, with the key unlocking a pair of special quick-release fasteners which secure the racks on each side.
Fastening Kits are not required to mount these sideracks to your motorcycle. The Quick-Lock kits are keyed so you can take them on and off and have them locked when they are on your bike. The Hardbolt Kit is used if you don't want to take your sideracks off at all, as they are 'hard bolted' to your bike.
The sidecarriers are black powder-coated to provide a durable finish that cleans up easily (after they get mud splattered from that last trail ride). To use, simply attach the appropriate adapter plate to the siderack, and then add one of the GIVI (Monokey system), TraX ALU-BOX, Pelican, Micatech V2, Kappa, Shad, Hepco-Becker, or Krauser, cases. The Quick-Lock EVO Style Sidecarriers install easily using the included hardware, and diagram. With this system your motorcycle can adapt to carry the luggage you need. The luggage-specific adapter plates are sold separately.
